2004 marks the 50th anniversary of the first visit of Godzilla to Japan’s shores. Decades of destroying Tokyo have tired out the big guy, who’s headed for (doubtless temporary) retirement following his screen appearance in Ryuhei Kitamura’s Godzilla Final Wars, later this fall. (Fervent prayers to the gods of Monster Island for the casting of Tak Sakaguchi as a nerdy scientist ...). New contenders for the throne are already on the rampage, foremost of whom appears to be ..... Pengzilla!
